Cookies and storage
Everything we put in your browser — and nothing else.

The complete list
Here is the entirety of the cookies and storage items the service uses. All of them are functional: the service cannot work without them.
cp_deviceCookie13 monthsAnonymous identifier for your device. Lets you save places, like, and subscribe to alerts without an account. 13 months is the maximum lifetime the CNIL allows for this kind of identifier.
Supabase session cookiesCookiesFor your sessionSet only if you sign in (Google or a code by email). They keep you signed in and disappear when you sign out.
cp_geo_consentlocalStorageUntil deletedRemembers your choice (granted or refused) for using geolocation during check-in. Changeable at any time in the settings.
Heatwave banner (dismissal)sessionStorageEnd of the tabRemembers that you closed the heatwave alert banner, so it is not shown again during the same session.
Why there is no cookie banner
The rules only require a consent banner for non-essential cookies (advertising, tracking). Here:
- the items listed above are strictly functional — exempt from consent;
- our audience measurement (Matomo, when enabled) runs without any cookies, anonymised, with no cross-site matching — the configuration exempted by the CNIL (the French data-protection authority), which requires no banner;
- we set no advertising or tracking cookies.
If that ever changed, a compliant banner (equal-weight Accept / Refuse) would be shown before anything is set.
Third-party sites (outbound links)
Our links to shops (Amazon, other retailers) are plain outbound links: we set no affiliate cookies. Once on their site, their own cookie policies apply. How it works: affiliate links.
How to delete all of this
You can delete cookies and storage at any time in your browser settings. The “Delete my data” button (in My list and in the settings) also erases everything linked to your device on our side — see the privacy policy.
