Before you buy this ticket, know what is already free: the permanent route through the Musée Carnavalet is open access, no booking. It is the oldest museum of the City of Paris, and since 2001 the permanent collections of the city's museums have been free to everyone.
So this €15 ticket buys the temporary exhibition on Jacques Villeglé and urban art, 14 October 2026 to 14 February 2027 — Paris since the 1950s, seen by a man who tore posters off walls, set against photographers, artists and today's street art.
One timing trap worth knowing: the museum closes at 18h, but the ticket desk closes at 17h15 and the rooms at 17h45. Arriving at 17h30 means not getting in.
Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10h to 18h, 23 rue Madame de Sévigné. Closed 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.
